Sealing the pavement on a relatively consistent basis can be a great tool to be able to keep any asphalt surface looking good. The thing that we always tell our clients is that not all surfaces are going to be fit for a seal coating procedure. Another important thing to consider is the level of experience that the company that you ultimately hire has for this type of procedure. Many people are going out and buying equipment to be able to provide this service, but having the equipment does not give you the experience to be able to provide this service effectively.
When Is Sealcoating A Good Idea?
As we mentioned before there are certain surfaces that are just perfect for a seal coating procedure, you could potentially get a lot out of that particular procedure. Mainly these are going to be, surfaces that could be getting a little dull as far the color goes, but overall are in ok shape. That’s not to say that we won’t provide a sealcoating procedure on other surfaces. Particularly ones that are a bit more worn down. When that is the case though what we don’t want to do is present sealcoating as the answer to all of your problems. Which is what we feel that a lot of amateur paving companies offer.
It’s Not That We Will Completely Opposed Sealcoating
We’ve talked about the viability and eligibility of some areas for a proper sealcoating procedure. We want to make sure that we put this to bed before we talk more about the benefits. We won’t oppose providing a sealcoating procedure to anyone. What we may recommend are proper repairs on some surfaces before sealcoating. That way those surfaces will potentially be able to obtain all of the benefits from the sealcoating procedure.
Trust The Process
If you are going to choose to go with a sealcoating procedure the best thing that you can do is respect the times. After having the area sealcoated we recommend that you allow it to sit for about a day. This will allow the surface to be able to settle in. If you don’t allow the surface to settle in properly you could be compromising the type of results that you could get. Some people want to say that you only need to stay off the surface for a couple of hours. We usually suggest you should give it a bit more time.
More Benefits of Asphalt Sealcoating
A proper asphalt sealcoating procedure can make your asphalt surface much more compact. This is going to allow it to hold up better if you have heavier vehicles or equipment on it. It’s also going to help limit the impact from moisture all while giving your surface a darker and more lively look compared to the old gray look that asphalt surfaces tend to have. Again, this procedure is a great idea, but it doesn’t mean that it’s the only thing that you can do to repair an asphalt surface.
